My Real-Time Home Updates for this Holiday Season
Our home for the holidays
Since my family is a flight away, I was away for Christmas last year so didn’t bother putting up a Christmas tree. This year we are hosting… so your dam skippy my tree is already up mid November!
I’m excited to be working with King of Christmas this season, and am able to provide 10% off their trees with my code: Shesgoing
I chose the 7ft Tribeca Tree with warm lights from King of Christmas. It was extremely easy to assemble as it came with three pieces, a stand, and the lights were already on the tree. The most time consuming part is fluffing the branches but it went by quickly.
Our tree will stand tall with a pretty star atop.
I purchased balls from Home goods. I wanted to do more red colors however our apartment is white with a lot of unique art pieces so I went with silver, gold and white to stay neutral.
A unique touch that I added was the Sweater Mini Rose by Venus Et Fleur. I thought this was such a cute idea to add to the tree
To add some more textures and fill in the branches, I ordered the below White Branches from Amazon.
I’ve never hosted a Christmas meal so I figured that as a back up to the food not tasting well, the table should at least be beautiful. So I’m going all out on the table setting.
Since my apartment came furnished with a lot of art, it took me a while to come up with an idea. Since I recently got another Venus et Fleur arrangement, I wanted to incorporate them along with my existing candles in to the center piece. I browsed Pinterest ” Christmas Table Centerpieces” for ideas and shopped for everything on Amazon.
My Venus Et Fleur are white and black, which isn’t very Christmas-y but since they last a year I wanted something neutral. In addition, my apartment is modern with many different colors and not much red. So, I decided my color scheme would be white, black, gold & silver with a splash of red.
For linen I chose a plain white cloth and a statement piece black/white striped runner. For that holiday pop, I bought burgundy napkins. Below photos have links to exactly what I bought:
When I sit down at the table, I always touch my napkin first. Therefore, to me the napkin ring holders are one of the first impressions while taking a seat. For this Christmas, I went with snowflake napkin holders (pictured). I also really liked the following options:
For a luxurious look, I bought gold square chargers to place beneath our white square plates. I’m really happy with them and plan on using them all year round!
Now, for the Centerpiece! I’m going to use an existing gold dish and fill empty space with leaves (most likely purchased at Trader Joes). On the dish I will place my round white Venus Et Fleur’s, gold candles, and a white matte vase with 1 or 2 red feathers. Since everything is mainly black and white I want the feathers to be the pop of color.
Not sure if it’ll look good or not, but if not I will arrange them in to another part of the house.
Update- 12/10 : The Feathers were smaller & the quantity was more. Go figure Lol . So, I stuck some feathers in the Xmas Tree for now. I can use them in the house later so I’m not going to bother trying to get the taller ones. The Table cloth also came in so anddd that was small too. Haha. That I will be returning.
Once I have the new table cloth and small vase for the feathers, I can shoot the table 🙂 Cant wait!
I have less than 30 days until Christmas, I’m hoping to have the tree and table setting fully done by end of the first week. Then it’s on to finding stockings and wrapping pretty presents. I’ve always had so much fun wrapping the gifts with pretty bows!
