LFW Preperations
My Glamming Process
After 2 weeks of eating nothing but bread and cheese in the Alps, I came back to London focused and ready to start prepping for our upcoming trip to Carnival and of course London Fashion Week!
The first LFW I attended was just a few weeks after I moved to London so everything felt a bit rushed. My second time around, I have more time to prepare and share what I’m up to with you 🙂
First things first, I’ve created an account on the official LFW site . The registration does require a bit of information such as my media kit, google analytics for my blog, photo, social media links etc.
From there I took a look at the daily scheduled shows and presentations (shows are cat walks & presentations are more so exhibits) and reached out to their press contacts for tickets. Pro tip, they provide a downloadable version of all press ticket contacts for each show.
Next, I contacted my brand agency and all PR contacts I have in London. This is a great time to get back in touch and let them know you’ll be attending. It’s helpful for them as they are working to fill events and having their clients brands being worn at LFW. It’s a win, Win for all.
I got a ZO Red Carpet facial & peel from Regent Park Aesthetics so my skin will be glowing 🙂 This was my first time getting a facial using ZO products and must say I was impressed. My skin feels brighter, tighter and hydrated. The facial included: Deep cleansing exfoliation, extractions, glycolic & lactic peel and finished off with a Vitamin C mask.
Believe it or not, Fashion Week is stressful and a time I wear more makeup than usual so I’m really happy to be confident in my skin (pun intended.) I’m sure I’ll do a few more eye/ face masks throughout the week too.
Nails done, Hair done, everything did… Yes, I got my nails done, hair done, a spray tan, and whitened my teeth 🙂 This isn’t necessary for LFW but I’ll use any excuse to pamper myself. No shame in taking care of yourself!
First, Stuart & I became gym addicts and stopped drinking until our next trip on Feb 28th. Cutting alcohol always helps me slim down (it’s crazy how bloated it makes me. Ugh.)
Since ya girl is Pale AF! I got an organic spray tan because sun-beds are a big no no for me. I had met Fran from Glow by Francesca at an event in the fall and loved my results. I continue to use her because she does a great job, has organic products, and comes to my house. SO convenient!
The Organic spray we used was SunTanna which is a mix of fruit and berries pending on the shade you look for. I had to wait 6-8 hours before washing and thankfully it didn’t leave a typical self tanner smell. I’m loving the results as the tan looks natural and even 🙂
Since the water in London is awful, I find my hair looking dead and dry. With my fine hair it shows; so I need to get a trim every 6-8 weeks so the style looks fresh. I was so thankful to get a gifted style from SASSOON in their Covent Garden location. Talk about professionalism! My stylist, Scott, was truly an expert. I complimented his suave motions and he explained it was part of his training. The Sassoon builds their stylist’s foundation on technical (understanding the angels of the skull, arm placement etc.) and suitability (customizing trends to each unique client) techniques.
We started my treatment by hydrating and volumizing my hair with System Professional products: Luxeoil Emulsion & Liquid hair (below.) Next we trimmed and corrected the blunt cut look. I’ll be back on Friday to brighten the frame around my face and I’m ready for LFW!
“I’ve been up at the gym just working on my fitness.” Can’t lie, Carnival is my main motivation for this but I’ve been going HARD. Weights, Cardio, Antigravity Yoga, Spin classes etc. Followed by a relaxing steam and sauna sesh of course! Stuart & I also stopped drinking until our next trip on Feb 28th. Cutting alcohol always helps me slim down (it’s crazy how bloated it makes me. Ugh.)
As for supplements, I’ve been taking Perricone MD Digestion Aid and Super Skin. (These were highly recommended gifts from PurePr.) The digestion aid reduces bloating, breaks down gluten & milk proteins, and balances your system. The super skin is meant to enhance collagen, counter UV /sun damage and reduce wrinkles.
What I really like is that this company offers a full refund if you aren’t satisfied with your results. I love that they are confident in their product. It’s only been two weeks for me, so I’ll have to give you another update once I finish the bottles.
Having done all the above, I feel healthy and confident! Much more prepared for London Fashion Week this go around. Huge Thank You to Fran from FRPRLondon for setting me up!
I’m sure I’ll write another post about my LFW experience but do tune along on my Instagram stories xx
