Life Update: WE ARE MOVING, Again!
I know, I can't believe it either...
Yup, this isn’t a typo. We are officially moving to MIAMI on June 24th.
I still can’t believe it, and to be honest I was not easily persuaded to leave London either. Back in December, Stuart (my man) was offered a new position in Miami, over time they negotiated a deal that we just couldn’t refuse.
Not going to lie, originally this felt like the worst.thing.in.the.world. For real, I never get depressed but this was the first time I have really experienced anxiety. Yes, I’m used to moving around with all my travels and such but I need to have a stable home. The unknown of what to do work wise now and then drove me crazy. Just this past September I left everything in NY to come to London… I had to start over again with new brands, Pr contacts, not to mention new friends. I just honestly LOVE London and didn’t want to live any where else.
As a New Yorker, Florida seemed boring and bland. In London, I had more history and accessibility to easily travel. But of course, I was just looking at the negatives. After days (weeks) of crying I had to kick myself in the arse and remember who the F I was!!
First of all, this is a huge opportunity for Stuart, and I need to support my man as he always does for me. Second of all, Miami has great weather, all new apartment buildings, and a lot of hotels I could work with to further my career with SG hotels. Plus, I’ve never been to South America before 😉
So yeah, I recognize these are first world problems. I’m so grateful to have lived in London, and know we can certainly come back in due time. Miami will be a great stepping stone financially for both of us too. If anything this has been a great learning experience for me in many ways: A. I understand other’s issues with anxiety having now experienced it, B. I need to trust life’s path rather than fight it, and lastly C. Relationships are about making compromises and supporting each other.
We only have a month here, so we will be making the most of our time in London seeing friends, trying new restaurants and sight seeing. I’ll do my best to also push out more travel guides here, nearby cities and the process of moving countries (again.)
Always keeping it interesting,
Samantha x
