Clean Sunscreen

My Honest Reviews After Years of Trying Different Brands

Sunscreen. We all have to wear it so that we can protect the largest organ on our body: our skin. It becomes an issue when your sunscreen causes your face to become irritated and inflamed. Not to mention, how bad non-organic sunscreens are for marine life as we take a dip in the ocean.

The famous Maya Bay, featured in Leonardo Dicaprio’s movie “The Beach” brought a lot of tourism which was great for the economy, but horrible for its ecosystem. After years of visitors baking in the sun with their suntanning lotion, the Thai government closed the island to allow its coral reef to rebuild.

I want to stress the importance of transitioning to clean sunscreen. That means selecting SPF with non-chemical shields. Instead, use clean sunscreen which is organic and hypoallergenic.

So, how do you determine that sunscreen is clean? Well, chemical free sunscreen should only contain zinc oxide and/or titanium dioxide as the active ingredient. As you review the ingredients, be sure to check for other active ingredients besides zinc oxide and titanium dioxide as some formulas will contain those ingredients combined with active chemical compounds.

It is important to wear sunscreen daily. That means wear your sunscreen for every season! Although, exposure to sun is vital for our overall health and wellbeing, exposing our bare skin to sun can increase the risk of skin cancer and cause early signs of aging. Every single time you step outside, you are being exposed to UV radiation. There are no exemptions because even on the cloudiest day your skin can soak up 80% of the sun’s rays when there is an overcast and snow can basically double the the amount of UV radiation that penetrates your skin.

I just want to praise you for reading this post because you have made it to the best part. I will share with you a few clean sunscreen brands that you can incorporate into your beauty routine. Not only will you look good, your skin will love you for taking care of it!
