I hear about CBD all the time. It is everywhere. I have seen it in products that you can eat, drink, vape, rub and bathe in. It is even popular for our pets! I reached out to Susan Kaufman and Jeff Feiler, founders of Est 2020 Luxury Skincare, to learn about their new product line and more about CBD as an exciting new ingredient in skincare and pain relief products.

First let’s start off with, what exactly is CBD?

CBD is short for Cannabidiol. It is a naturally occurring compound found in Cannabis plants, more specifically Hemp plants. CBD is a non-psychoactive cannabinoid. That means it does not make you feel high as you would from THC found in marijuana plants. Hemp and CBD are legal both Federally and in each state.

Now that we know more about CBD, why is it beneficial in skincare and pain relief?

CBD is a powerful anti-inflammatory and antioxidant. Inflammation is the main reason we feel pain, whether the pain is chronic like Arthritis or acute such as sore muscles from exercise. CBD lessens inflammation and eases the pain.

Oxidants, which are also called free radicals, are like tiny bombs which damage cells of the skin and throughout the body. CBD is an excellent antioxidant which diffuses those tiny bombs and helps to prevent cellular damage.

Tell me about the .est 2020 Luxury Skincare products and what makes the line different from competitors in the market?

We formulated our two Est 2020 product lines with health-conscious consumers in mind. Our STRONG.est 2020 products are for pain relief. These topical lotions contain all natural, plant based anti-pain ingredients such as Menthol, Arnica, and many others. To that we added CBD (either a high level of 500 mg per ounce or Nano CBD) making our products extremely effective. The anti-inflammatory and antioxidant qualities of CBD keep your skin looking firm and young. Like our pain relief line, our skincare products are formulated with the highest quality, mostly organic and non-GMO ingredients, contain no chemicals, synthetic dyes or artificial fragrances.

You mentioned Nano CBD, what is that and what are the benefits?

Nanotechnology has been proven effective in pharmacology for many years. The idea is to make the molecules very small, so it is easier for the body to absorb. We have used that technology to allow the Nano CBD to absorb more deeply. Other products stay on top of the skin doing little good. Our products absorb deeply into the layers of the skin making them more effective. For example, our “Deep Relief” lotion penetrates more deeply through layers of the skin and fat so it can seep into the muscles to alleviate inflammation where it is needed most. Our products have greater absorption due to the Nano CBD.

How would a consumer benefit from these products?

Chronic pain caused by inflammation is a major problem from which many people suffer. One can only use chemicals or take drugs such as ibuprofen (Advil) for so long before liver damage and other side effects occur. Even worse is taking Opioids causing addiction.
